AEGIS can work from 2D and 3D CAD files (IGES, STEP or Parasolid are preferred) and from sample parts to provide explicit recommendations for improving a current gas assist molding program, or to implement gas assist processing for a new product at any design stage. Some injection molded parts are designed to use a gas molding process, other may need the process to eliminate sink marks, warpage, reduce cycle times and often reduce resin consumption.
